Colleges that Change Lives: a fair not to miss
The Colleges that Change Lives Fair comes to the Bay Area this Sunday, Aug. 3, in two locations -- South San Francisco (near SFO) and Walnut Creek.
About Colleges that Change Lives:
Colleges That Change Lives, Inc. (CTCL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and support of a student-centered college search process. We support the goal of each student finding a college that develops a lifelong love of learning and provides the foundation for a successful and fulfilling life beyond college. We were founded as a result of a book of the same name—Colleges That Change Lives, researched and written by former New York Times education editor Loren Pope.
In following Mr. Pope’s ideals, we believe that the criteria most college bound students and their parents and counselors use, such as name and prestige, do not acknowledge the importance of understanding an individual student’s needs and how they “fit” with the mission and identity of an individual college community.
Each event begins with a 30-minute presentation, followed by a 90-minute college fair.
Both events Sunday, Aug. 3
The South San Francisco event begins at noon:
South San Francisco Conference Center
255 South Airport Blvd.
South San Francisco, CA 94080
The Walnut Creek event begins at 5 p.m.
Walnut Creek Marriott
2355 North Main St.
Walnut Creek, CA 94596
Pre-registration is not required.
