Reed, in Portland, OR, is known as a rebel against the rankings-based, hard-driving, ruthlessly competitive college admissions blood sport, and has a reputation for welcoming applicants without SAT scores. I know from my son's college mail that Reed did still buy the mailing list of high scorers on the PSAT, though.
